Hot water on demand
The Kwikot 16L Fan Forced LPG Gas Geyser (FGI-HFI16-LPG) is an instantaneous gas water heater. Instead of keeping a tank of water hot all day, it heats water only while a hot tap or shower is open. It delivers up to 16 litres of hot water per minute.
How it works
When you open a hot tap, water flows through the geyser. Once the flow reaches 2.3 litres per minute, the burner lights automatically and heats the water as it passes through. When you close the tap, the burner switches off. A built-in fan pushes the exhaust gases out through a flue pipe, which is why this model can be installed indoors.

This geyser suits households that want an alternative to an electric storage geyser, people building or renovating, and homeowners replacing an existing gas geyser. The right size depends on how many hot taps and showers you use at the same time.

Where it can be used
It can be installed indoors, with the flue pipe venting outside, or outdoors. Outdoor installations need a gas geyser weather cover, which Kwikot requires for the warranty to stay valid.
Important things to know
- It needs electricity. The geyser requires a 230 V power supply (55 W) for its fan and ignition, so a plug point is needed near the unit.
- Load-shedding: it runs on LPG, but without electricity its fan and ignition cannot work, so it will not heat water during a power outage unless it has a backup power supply.
- It must be installed by a registered gas installer who issues a Certificate of Compliance (COC). Kwikot needs the COC for any warranty claim.
- Installation is not included in the price. You can request a quotation from the Stargas Installations team.

Installation requirements
- Registered gas installer and COC: by law, a gas appliance must be installed by a qualified installer who can issue a Certificate of Compliance. Kwikot requires the COC for warranty claims.
- Power: a 230 V plug point is needed near the geyser.
- Stop valves: a stop valve must be fitted near the geyser to shut off the gas and water supply for maintenance.
- Indoor installation: exhaust gases must be vented outside through the flue. The flue may be up to 5 m long with a maximum of 3 bends (each bend counts as 2 m of straight pipe). It must slope 3° to 5° downwards towards the outside, and must be insulated (more than 20 mm thick) where it passes through a combustible wall.
- Flue extensions: use Kwikot after-sales parts or 0.3 mm SUS304 stainless steel pipe or better. Do not connect to plastic flues or ducts with internal plastic coatings.
- Outdoor installation: a gas geyser weather cover must be fitted over the unit, or the warranty is void.
- Water quality: the water supply must meet SANS 241 for the warranty to apply.

Who provides it: Kwikot (Haier) SA (Pty) Ltd. Kwikot will repair the faulty part or, at its discretion, replace it with a new or re-manufactured part.
When it starts: from the date of installation, if proof of the installation date is provided. Without proof, the warranty runs from the date of manufacture on the serial plate. Repairs or replacements do not restart or extend the warranty period.
The warranty is only honoured if:
- the warranty period is still in force;
- the geyser was installed, used and maintained according to Kwikot’s specifications and instructions;
- all products in the installation comply with SANS approvals;
- the water supply meets SANS 241;
- a valid gas Certificate of Compliance (COC) is available;
- a weather cover is fitted if the geyser is installed outdoors.
Not covered:
- damage to the heat exchanger from freezing when there is no electrical supply;
- burnouts caused by loose connections;
- fair wear and tear;
- misuse, abuse or negligent use;
- self-repair, tampering, or defacing the serial plate;
- faults where non-genuine Kwikot spare parts were used.
Installation faults are the responsibility of the installer, not Kwikot.
Access: the geyser must be accessible for service. If it is in an inaccessible space, a call-out fee may be charged and the warranty call must be resubmitted once the geyser is accessible.
